Application Criteria

Student must be sponsored by their school band director.
Student must play a woodwind, brass or percussion instrument.
Student must be a 2011 graduation senior.
Upon graduation, student must attend a college or university and major in music.
Student must submit proof of 3.0 GPA or better.
Student must submit a completed application form along with a letter of request and three letters of recommendation – one from their school band director and two others (not parents!)
Student must submit a recording of the 2011 California Band Director's Association High School Honor Band audition music.

FCCB Annual Music Scholarship

Annual $1,000 Music Scholarship
for college-bound brass, woodwind and percussion students.

The FCCB Annual Music Scholarship began with a generous anonymous donation, and continues thanks to ongoing support of Friends of FCCB. Founded in 1993, the FCCB is an all volunteer, non-profit organization comprised of former high school and college band members. This scholarship is being offered to encourage and support a music student’s college education.

Only one music scholarship is awarded each year. Complete details of the qualifying criteria are posted here and on the application form. Deadline to apply for the 2011 award is May 15, 2011. (Mailed application must be postmarked by this date.) The winner of the scholarship will be publicly announced during the FCCB’s concert on May 29, 2011.
