It is with heavy hearts that The Fresno Community Concert Band shares the news of the passing of our founding conductor, Mr. Robert Nielsen.
Mr. Nielsen passed on December 18, 2024 in Germany.
Mr. Nielsen was conductor of the band for 25 years. He was also a skilled composer and arranger for the band. A gifted musician, Mr. Nielsen played trumpet professionally and was an esteemed member of the Fresno Philharmonic. In addition to his professional work, he taught at both Fresno City College and Reedley College.
Services will be held in Mindelheim, Germany on January 8, 2025. Our thoughts are with his beloved wife, Irene Klug Nielsen and his family at this time.
April 26 Concert Update:
Due to circumstances beyond our control, the location for our April 26, 2025 concert has been changed to the Washington Union High School theatre in Easton. The Washington Union HS Band will be joining us for this performance as well.
Because the theatre seats 750, there will only be one concert at 3 PM. We apologize for any inconvenience. All 7 PM tickets for that concert will be honored at the 3 PM time.
